Studio Assistant-Part-Time
Job Type: Part-Time
Speckles & Splatter LLC (Speckles+Splatter) is a new art, pottery and creativity studio in West Dearborn, Michigan. The studio offers pottery painting, mosaics, clay hand building, wood projects, classes, and private parties and events. To support the operation, we are looking for energetic, engaged, and happy people to fill the Studio Assistant position. Responsibilities and qualifications are as follows:
Responsibilities
-
Become familiar with all products and art activities offered in the studio.

Greet and interact with customers and assist as they complete their art projects.

Receive new product deliveries, unpack, check and enter into the inventory system, and clean and prepare for display.

Check product stock and replenish as needed.
-
Assist the manager with opening and closing procedures.
-
Handle sales transactions and manage register.
-
Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of the studio, including bathroom facilities.
-
Represent the studio in a friendly and professional manner.

Answer telephone, manage bookings and reservations (in-person, over the phone, and online).

Assist art instructors during kids and adult classes.
-
Assist during kids and adult parties and events.

Manage the inventory and ordering of necessary supplies and material.
Qualifications
-
Creativity is a must. Art experience is ideal, but not required.

Must be prepared to learn art techniques.

High school diploma is required (current High School students are welcome to apply)
-
Must be able to function effectively with minimal or no supervision.

Must be able to work well/collaborate with other team members.
-
Must have strong communication, creativity and organization skills.
